American Frame began in 1973 with a small ad in the back of American Artist magazine, selling custom-cut frames to artists by mail. More than fifty years later, founder Ron Mickel’s daughters, Laura and Dana, run the Maumee, Ohio company, handcrafting frames to order for artists, photographers, galleries and museums nationwide.
